Cherise Johnson, Head of Marketing
Cherise is an artist, a strategist, and a media producer helping purpose-driven organizations tell their story and connect with their community. Throughout her 20 year career, her passion for spotlighting emerging leaders and building campfires of common purpose has always been her driving force.
Prior to her position with Lilie, Cherise served as the Director for Marketing for DivInc, a nonprofit startup accelerator for women and BIPOC founders. She has worked at at a myriad of nonprofits and community organizations throughout the country, including Louisiana Public Health Institute in New Orleans, National Academies of Sciences in Washington D.C., and Lakewood Church here in Houston. In additional to her nonprofit work, Cherise is an accomplished writer and media producer with pieces published by Houston Press, Bustle, and Huffington Post.
Cherise holds a B.A. in public policy and business from the University of Miami and a M.A. in Arts + Entrepreneurship from the University of Houston.
