Lilie Spaces

COVID19 UPDATE

The Lab will remain closed to the Rice Community for coworking during the Fall 2021 semester. We are open for classes, a limited number of events, and office hours. While we dearly miss our entrepreneurial students and the energy they bring to the space, we are committed to doing our part in keeping the Rice community safe and healthy.  Please stay tuned for any updates.

Location

The Lab is located on the ground floor of the new Cambridge Office Building at the corner of Cambridge Street and Main Street on campus.

Parking is available in the building garage.

Hours

In person hours for the public will be updated prior to the Spring 2022 semester.

A flexible, modern learning and workspace, the Liu Idea Lab is Rice’s new on-campus hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Here you will find entrepreneurs and experts in residence, mentors, and innovators from fields across campus. It is a bridge between Rice and the broader innovation and entrepreneurship community in Houston and beyond. The Lab hosts experiential classes and co-curricular events such as the Lilie Lectures, competitions, and workshops. Open for learning, innovating, studying, and co-working, from morning to night. Join us!

Access & Use

We intend to reopen the Liu Idea Lab to current Rice students, faculty, and staff for co-working in 2022. Rice affiliates interested in using the space will need to agree to the Lab guidelines and successfully complete a quiz summarizing usage guidelines.

In addition to co-working, Lilie hosts special events open to the public. All events hosted in the Lab require registration. All participants in Lab activities are expected to uphold the standards articulated in the Lab guidelines as well as Rice University.
