1st Pitch

The art of the pitch is an essential skill that every changemaker needs, and practice makes perfect. 1st Pitch is an opportunity to pitch your idea, project, or problem you want to solve or join your peers to forge relationships with potential co-founders and teammates.

Have an idea for a new product, invention, or business, or see a problem you want to fix in the world?

Looking for people with the right skills to help you launch? Or are you interested in hearing innovative ideas from across the Rice community in an interactive setting? If so, join us for First Pitch! There are two ways to participate: Rice students can enter to pitch their idea or attend and watch pitches from their peers.

There’s no selection process for pitches – everyone will get a chance to present for 60 seconds to share their vision and let the group know what you are looking for (e.g., mentors, co-founders, customers, etc.)

You don’t need any particular background or prior practice – we’ll help teach you how to give a compelling 60-second pitch of your business idea to solve the problem you’re most passionate about.

This event happens at the beginning of every Fall semester.
