A flexible, modern learning and workspace, the Liu Idea Lab is Rice’s new on-campus hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Here you will find entrepreneurs and experts in residence, mentors, and innovators from fields across campus.
The Lab hosts experiential classes, and co-curricular events such as the Lilie Lectures, competitions, and workshops.
The Lab is a bridge between Rice and the broader innovation and entrepreneurship community in Houston and beyond.
A new resource for the Rice community, open for learning, innovating, studying, co-working, from morning to night.
The Lab is located on the ground floor of the new Cambridge Building at the corner of Cambridge and Main Streets on the Rice campus.
Parking is available in the building garage.
12-6 PM regular hours access.
6-Midnight after hours access.
Open Sunday – Friday. Closed Saturday.
Access & Use
The Liu Idea Lab is open to current Rice students, faculty, and staff for co-working. Prior to first use, Rice affiliates interested in using the space will need to agree to the Lab guidelines and successfully complete a brief quiz summarizing usage guidelines.
In addition to co-working, Lilie hosts a variety of special events open to the public. All events hosted in the Lab require registration. All participants in the Lab activities are expected to uphold the standards articulated in the Lab guidelines as well as the shared standards for Rice University.
