The Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship (Rice Alliance) is Rice University’s nationally-recognized initiative devoted to the support of technology commercialization, entrepreneurship education for the community, and the launch of technology companies.

Since its inception in 2000, more than 1800 companies have participated in over 185 Rice Alliance programs and have raised more than $3.6 billion in early-stage capital.

Rice Business Plan Competition

The Rice Alliance hosts the Rice Business Plan Competition (RBPC), the world’s richest and largest student startup competition, awarding more than $8.4 million in prizes since 2001. Over 201 past competitors are in business today or successfully exited having raised in excess of $1.6 billion in capital and exit dollars.
